What Is Taichi

Taichi, also known as Tai Chi Chuan, is a traditional Chinese martial art that combines slow, flowing movements with deep breathing and mental focus. At SJF Kung Fu School, we teach Taichi as a complete system for developing body, mind, and spirit. Our school is led by Master Shen Jiangfei, the 11th-generation inheritor of Chen-style Taichi, which is the oldest and most original of the five primary family styles. Master Shen grew up in a martial arts family and has dedicated decades to preserving these authentic teachings. Unlike commercial schools that simplify or water down the art, we maintain the full traditional forms and philosophies passed down through generations. Our international students from Germany, the UK, the United States, and many other countries have experienced the depth of our training firsthand.

Taichi is often called "meditation in motion." But at SJF, it is much more than that. It is a practical martial art, a health practice, and a philosophical system all in one. The slow, graceful movements you see are actually powerful techniques for generating internal energy, improving balance, and developing self-defense skills. Fundamentals of Taichi Practice
